Youth Leagues

Recommended for families living in the Buhler Grade School boundaries.

This league is organized by Hutch Rec in partnership with Buhler Rec, ensuring that families residing within the Buhler Grade School boundaries—whether attending public, private, or homeschool—can enjoy hometown benefits. By registering through Buhler Rec, we will strive to place your child on a team with neighbors and provide Buhler Rec teams with the opportunity to practice in town.

  • Practices: Practices will be held in Buhler on Wednesday or Thursdays, beginning May 14th or 15th.
  • Games: Games will be played on Monday evenings, with each team participating in 6 games throughout the month of June. The season begins June 2.
    • NEW: All games will take place in Hutchinson.

Introduce your child to the fundamentals of baseball and softball through our HIB T-Ball League this summer! This league features teams from Haven, Inman, and Buhler, providing a fun and engaging experience for young ball players.

  • Practices: Buhler teams will practice for one hour on Sunday evenings at the Buhler Grade School field, beginning May 11.
  • Games: Each team will play four games, starting June 4. Games will take place on Wednesday evenings, rotating between Buhler, Inman, and Haven.
  • Ages (as of 5/1/25): 4–6
  • Fee: $35

Enrichment Classes & Camps

OPEN TO ALL regardless of residency.

This program is made possible through a partnership between Buhler Grade School, Buhler Recreation, and dedicated Community Leader volunteers, working together to create meaningful and enriching after-school programs.

This After School Run Club welcomes all grade school students from Pre-K through 5th grade, including those in public, private, and home school. Designed for all fitness levels.

Students will enjoy building friendships in a fun and inclusive setting that includes interactive games, being physically active, and expressing creativity. At the end of the season, the team will complete a fun run together which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment and sets a confident mindset into motion.
Each participant will receive a T-shirt! Practice sessions include a snack, and the final session features a celebratory pizza dinner!

Locations: Each session will start and finish in the Buhler Grade School Gym. Sessions will include runs in the school’s play area and throughout Wheatland Park.

Join us for Buhler’s Hunter’s Education Certification Course, a comprehensive program combining online learning with an in-person classroom and field session. This course is perfect for teens and adults of all experience levels—whether you’re a first-time hunter or simply looking to gain firearm safety skills. This course is recognized by Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.

Parent Information
Parents are welcome to attend the classroom session and are encouraged to assist with transportation to the field session. If your child requires transportation from the Wellness Center to the Shooting Range, please indicate this during registration.

Join our Community CPR, First Aid, & AED Training Course and gain the skills to respond in an emergency! Whether you’re a parent, teacher, coach, childcare provider, or just someone who wants to be prepared, this course is for you.

This course is an online blended training course by Health & Safety Institute (HSI). Blended learning combines online training of concepts and knowledge with a face to face skills session in which you do hands-on practice in front of an authorized Instructor. Each registered student will receive access to their online course training and will be given 2 weeks to complete at their own pace prior to the in person class.

Designed by ASHI, the Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) course provides teenagers and young adults with the essential skills and knowledge for safe and responsible babysitting. Participants will learn how to start a babysitting business, communicate effectively with parents and children, handle common caregiving challenges, and ensure a safe environment for young kids.
This class is ideal for youth who want to gain confidence in caring for younger siblings or start a babysitting business. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certification.

Calling all young chefs! One of our most popular summer camps is back! This hands-on cooking camp is the perfect way for kids to build confidence in the kitchen while having fun. Campers will learn how to safely use kitchen appliances, follow recipes, and practice essential cooking and baking skills—all in an engaging, supportive environment. Spots fill quickly, so don’t miss out on this flavorful summer experience!

Camp Aprons: Returning campers are encouraged to bring their Camp Apron from last year so instructors can add another year to it! If this is your child’s first time attending, please note it during registration so we can have a brand-new apron ready.

Get ready to kick off a fun-filled soccer experience! Led by BHS Soccer coaches and players, this camp is designed to introduce young athletes to the fundamentals of soccer in an exciting and supportive environment. Whether your child is a beginner or returning player, they’ll develop skills through age-appropriate activities that focus on learning, teamwork, and having fun.
Campers will receive a t-shirt and should bring cleats or tennis shoes and a water bottle.

Campers will join other artists and friends at the library where they will bring their stories to life through art! Campers will develop their artistic skills as they create four different artworks using a variety of methods such as paper collage, sculpting, printmaking, and painting to tell their stories! Campers will also participate in a community art display that features their work. Join us for a great time of artistic exploration where every creation becomes a tale worth sharing!

Get ready to serve, rally, and smash your way through an exciting week of tennis! Perfect for all skill levels, this camp focuses on developing fundamental skills, techniques, and coordination through engaging drills and games. Campers will have the unique opportunity to learn from past and present Crusader athletes in a positive, encouraging environment. Each participant will receive a camp t-shirt! Please bring your own water bottle. Rackets will be available to those that don’t have one.

Ready, set, run! This free, two-day camp is the perfect introduction to cross country for kids in grades 1–6. Led by Jeremy Lindahl who is a board member for Buhler Recreation Commission and a former Kansas State University runner, campers will learn the fundamentals of distance running through fun drills, games, and activities designed to build confidence and endurance. Whether they’re new to the sport or looking to improve their skills, this camp offers a supportive and energetic environment for all. Participants should wear running shoes and bring a water bottle.

Get your team together and join our Slow Pitch Recreational League this summer! Games will be held on Friday evenings at Wheatland Park from May 30 through July. The season includes a mix of single games and doubleheaders, leading up to an exciting postseason tournament where teams will compete for Champion T-Shirts and ultimate bragging rights!
