Youth Leagues
Recommended for families living in the Buhler Grade School boundaries.
Introduce your child to the fundamentals of baseball and softball through our HIB T-Ball League this summer! This league features teams from Haven, Inman, and Buhler, providing a fun and engaging experience for young ball players.
- Practices: Buhler teams will practice for one hour on Sunday evenings at the Buhler Grade School field, beginning May 10. Team’s may choose to skip Memorial Day weekend practice.
- Games: Each team will play four games, starting June 3. Games will take place on Wednesday evenings, rotating between Buhler, Inman, and Haven.
- Ages (as of 5/1/26): 4–6
- Fee: $35

Volunteer Coaches Needed! If you’re willing to coach, please indicate your interest during registration.
Equipment: Head coaches will be provided with reduced-injury baseballs, batting helmets, and a batting tee. Each player will receive a jersey before their first game.

This recreation basketball league is for boys and girls in 1st–6th grades. Single-grade leagues are offered, but may be combined due to registration numbers. Registration is done individually.
- Practices: Practices will be held once a week at Buhler Grade School or Buhler MB Church Gyms. Practice nights include Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with each team receiving one 1-hour practice slot per week. Practice nights will be assigned to coaches on a first-come, first-served basis. Practices will begin the week of December 15.
- Games: Games will be played on Saturdays, with each team participating in six games during January and February. All games will take place in Hutchinson or South Hutchinson.
- Game Weeks: January 10 – February 14

Lil Kickers: Lil Kickers is a Coed introductory soccer league for youth ages 3-6 yrs old. Leagues are divided into two divisions: 3-4 yr olds and 5-6 yr olds.
Rec League: This is a Coed recreation league for boys and girls ages 7-10 yr olds. Based on registration numbers, league divisions include: 7-8 yr olds and 9-10 yr olds.
- Practices: Practices will be held once a week at Wheatland Park Soccer Field. Practice nights include Tuesdays, and Thursdays, with each team receiving one 1-hour practice slot per week. Practice nights will be assigned to coaches on a first-come, first-served basis. Practices will begin the week of March 16.
- Games: Games will be played on Saturdays, with each team participating in six games during April and May. All games will take place in Hutchinson.

Enrichment Classes & Camps

Positive Pacers is a partnership between Buhler Grade School, Buhler Recreation, and dedicated community volunteers, creating meaningful after-school opportunities for kids.
Open to all K–5 students—public, private, and homeschool—this fun and inclusive run club builds fitness, friendships, and confidence. Practices include games and running activities, and participants receive a T-shirt, snacks, and an end-of-season race experience.
Spring 2026 – Grades K–5
- Dates: Every Thursday in April (4/2-4/30)
- Time: 3:05–4:15pm
- Location: Buhler Grade School Gym, with runs through the playground and Wheatland Park
- End of Season Race: On April 30, runners will compete in our end-of-season race, followed by a celebration to recognize their hard work and accomplishments. Parents are encouraged to come cheer on their runner and join in the excitement!
- Fee Options:
- $20 – Includes T-shirt
- $15 – No shirt included

- This group is designed for our older runners who are ready to take on the Frolic 5K Challenge!

Join our Community CPR, First Aid, & AED Training Course and gain the skills to respond in an emergency! Whether you’re a parent, teacher, coach, childcare provider, or just someone who wants to be prepared, this course is for you.
This course is an online blended training course by Health & Safety Institute (HSI). Blended learning combines online training of concepts and knowledge with a face to face skills session in which you do hands-on practice in front of an authorized Instructor. Each registered student will receive access to their online course training and will be given 2 weeks to complete at their own pace prior to the in person class.

Designed by ASHI, the Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) course provides teenagers and young adults with the essential skills and knowledge for safe and responsible babysitting. Participants will learn how to start a babysitting business, communicate effectively with parents and children, handle common caregiving challenges, and ensure a safe environment for young kids.
This class is ideal for youth who want to gain confidence in caring for younger siblings or start a babysitting business. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certification.

Calling all young chefs! One of our most popular summer camps is back! This hands-on cooking camp is the perfect way for kids to build confidence in the kitchen while having fun. Campers will learn how to safely use kitchen appliances, follow recipes, and practice essential cooking and baking skills—all in an engaging, supportive environment. Spots fill quickly, so don’t miss out on this flavorful summer experience!
Camp Aprons: Returning campers are encouraged to bring their Camp Apron from last year so instructors can add another year to it! If this is your child’s first time attending, please note it during registration so we can have a brand-new apron ready.

Get ready to kick off a fun-filled soccer experience! Led by BHS Soccer coaches and players, this camp is designed to introduce young athletes to the fundamentals of soccer in an exciting and supportive environment. Whether your child is a beginner or returning player, they’ll develop skills through age-appropriate activities that focus on learning, teamwork, and having fun.
Campers will receive a t-shirt and should bring cleats or tennis shoes, a water bottle, and a soccer ball (if possible).

Campers will join other artists and friends at the library where they will bring their stories to life through art! Campers will develop their artistic skills as they create four different artworks using a variety of methods such as paper collage, sculpting, printmaking, and painting to tell their stories! Campers will also participate in a community art display that features their work. Join us for a great time of artistic exploration where every creation becomes a tale worth sharing!

Ready, set, run! This free, two-day camp is the perfect introduction to cross country for kids in grades 1–6. Led by Jeremy Lindahl who is a board member for Buhler Recreation Commission and a former Kansas State University runner, campers will learn the fundamentals of distance running through fun drills, games, and activities designed to build confidence and endurance. Whether they’re new to the sport or looking to improve their skills, this camp offers a supportive and energetic environment for all. Participants should wear running shoes and bring a water bottle.

Each week features a casual, Sandlot-style game with teams formed on-site. You can stick with a buddy or spouse, and volunteer coaches will help keep things running smoothly.
Whether you’re looking to stay active, get back into the game, or just enjoy a fun Friday night activity, Coed Softball Meetups is the perfect fit. PLUS, this program is a great way to get ready for—or test the waters before—
joining our fall coed softball league that begins mid September.
Want to coach a team? It’s pretty simple—just put together the lineup for each game, be the point person for your team each night, and help keep things fun. If you’re interested, let us know when you register. Coaches get their participation fee refunded!
